Welcome to the home of Fowey Sailing!
Fowey Sailing Committee is a joint entity comprising members of Royal Fowey Yacht Club (RFYC) and Fowey Gallants Sailing Club (FGSC) and is the public facing name of the Port Of Fowey Race Organising Committee (POFROC).
Fowey Sailing Committee acts as one body representing both clubs for the purpose of organising and promoting racing and sailing events in and around the Port of Fowey in Cornwall.
The six members of Fowey Sailing Committee are the Rear Commodore (Sailing) and Honorary Sailing Secretary from both FGSC and RFYC, plus one other member nominated by each club.
The highlight of our sailing year is the Fowey Royal Regatta, which takes place in the third week of August. This is always an excellent week of racing for Cruisers (IRC & SWYTC ratings), the Falmouth Working Boats, local fleets of Troys and Fowey Rivers, as well as handicap dinghy fleets.
Fowey is a fabulous venue for yacht and dinghy racing events, combining a family holiday resort with a fabulous bay that accommodates every course configuration and sea state.
The race area for yachts can be placed in either the bay south of the entrance to Fowey Harbour or into St Austell Bay. Dinghies and keelboats can race out of harbour or in the sheltered deep water of the Fowey estuary.
Any class associations or clubs or other groups that would like to hold of their sailing events in Fowey please get in touch via email to committee@foweysailing.org
